The Australian Capital Territory (ACT), established in 1911 was settled as the nations capital. One of only a few planned cities in the world, the otiginal concept of a city in the bush remains today with over 50% of the greater area bushland, which makes it a great place to bushwalk and experience Australia's native flora and fauna.

Snowy Mountains

As the nations capital, The ACT houses The Australian War Memorial, National Science Centre, Parliament House and Old Parliament House which if you visit will show how Australia has come to be Australia through laws and regulations.
Canberra is strategically placed approximately 2 hours from each The Snowy Mountains and South Coast making Canberra a great place to stop and recoup along the way. Further, you could plan to stay here and make a second holiday out of it!
